Uber Eats Manager: how to change your menu prices

This guide follows Uber’s own help pages, quoted and dated, for changing prices in Uber Eats Manager: how to log in, where prices live, what to do about bulk changes, the app, when changes go live, and how to fix a menu that’s only half updated. Screen and button names are Uber’s, in quotes. Uber changes its tools from time to time, so if a screen looks different, the linked help page is the authority.

Uber Eats Manager login

Uber's own FAQ gives two ways to log in to Uber Eats Manager:

Uber's help pages give the web address as restaurant.uber.com in some articles and merchants.ubereats.com/manager in others. If a store is missing once you're in, Uber's answer is that every store must be associated with the email or phone number you logged in with; a store that isn't will not appear.

Where your Uber Eats menu prices live

Prices are edited in Menu Maker, which you open from the “Menu” link on the left sidebar of Uber Eats Manager. Each item has a default price, set on the “Basic” tab of its “Edit item” side panel. Uber notes that an item won't display to customers until it is added to a category.

Two things can make the price customers see differ from that default:

Change one price, step by step

  1. Change the price in your till first, so your in-store system stays the source of truth.
  2. Sign in to Uber Eats Manager and enter your username, password and 4-digit PIN.
  3. On the left sidebar, click “Menu” to open Menu Maker.
  4. Click “Overview”, then search for or select the item to open the “Edit item” side panel.
  5. On the “Basic” tab, change the default price.
  6. Click “Save”.
  7. Open the customer app and check the price customers actually see. Uber says some updates need a two-step verification from its menu team and can take up to 24 hours.

Bulk editing Uber Eats prices

None of Uber's menu-editing help pages that we checked describes a tool for changing many prices at once in Menu Maker. What they do describe:

If you change prices often, the email route is too slow to rely on, and item-by-item editing is where most mistakes start: the item with the size option gets missed while the main item is changed.

The Uber Eats Manager app

Uber's FAQ describes an Uber Eats Manager app for keeping an eye on the business: sales, order volume, ticket size and downtime for a chosen time range, the status of each store, and notification settings under “Account”. For more detail, the same FAQ points you back to Uber Eats Manager at restaurant.uber.com. Uber's menu-editing instructions all start from signing in on the web and opening Menu Maker from the left sidebar, so plan to make price changes on a computer.

The Uber Eats Orders app is separate: it is the order-taking app, and its credentials are the second way to log in to Uber Eats Manager described above.

When Uber Eats menu changes go live

So after any price change, check the live listing in the customer app the same day and again the next morning.

What to do when your Uber Eats menu is half-updated

A half-updated menu is the normal result of item-by-item editing: some prices are new, some are old, and nobody is sure which. Work through it in this order:

  1. See what actually changed. In Menu Maker, select “See Changes” in the top right corner to see who changed the menu and when, filtered by item or date. For one item, open its “Edit item” panel, click the three vertical dots and choose “Item history”.
  2. Check for changes still in verification. An edit that needs the menu team's two-step verification can take up to 24 hours, so a price that looks unchanged may already be pending.
  3. Check order-type prices. If you've switched on separate prices per order type, a pickup price can be right while the delivery price is still old.
  4. Check your POS integration. If your POS feeds Uber Eats, fix the price in the POS. A hand edit in Menu Maker on an integrated menu is the wrong place.
  5. Finish against your till, not your memory. Print or export your till price list and tick off each Uber Eats item, including size options and customisation-group prices.
